We at C3 American Exteriors work in multiple different states. These include Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Delaware. We have found that each state and area we work in has different preferences for their favorite siding choices. In our last blog, we discussed how people in Pennsylvania typically tend to choose Certainteed Monogram Vinyl Siding in darker colors. This is very different from the Eastern Shore, which we will be discussing in this blog. The Eastern Shore is defined as the parts of Maryland that are along the Chesapeake Bay as well as by the ocean. However, in this blog, we will also look at the areas of Delaware that are by the ocean as well. There is a long stretch of beach areas that spans from Maryland to Delaware to Virginia. This is known as the Delmarva Peninsula. Of this area, we will be focusing on the parts in Maryland and Delaware.
The Eastern Shore and the beaches of Delaware use a very different style of siding from what we mentioned in Pennsylvania. We find that the most popular type of siding seen in these areas is Certainteed Board and Batten Vinyl Siding. Vinyl is insulated and is made of a solid, rigid foam which keeps it in great shape and prevents warping. In addition, it is very energy efficient. Board and batten is a style of siding that alternates between wide boards and thin panels or battens. When it comes to the preferred siding colors in this regions, many will opt for lighter choices. This looks great by the water and brings a very beachy and beautiful feel.
